The site is designed and optimised to target the Nth American market with full online payment and order processing facilities in the back-end.

And like this website, the product is 100% completely designed and built in New Zealand.

Ecommerce is impossible!

Posted by on Nov 5, 2009 in Blog, Web Design | 0 comments

We have just recently completed a ecommerce site for a client with some pretty extreme deadlines.  The brief was to get a ecommerce site up for the client selling Halloween goods online with a shopping cart and the ability to process Visa payments……the week before Halloween!

The client had been repeatedly told that was impossible and he should allow a minimum of a 3 month lead in time.

I have to be honest and say that some pretty long days were had by us here at Webclick with much hair pulling and coffee drunk, but….Monday the 26th of October www.halloweencostumes.co.nz went live.

I wouldn’t recommend that sort of dealine to customers but hey, anything is possible when you put your mind to it.

Web Marketing vs Internet Marketing

Posted by on Jul 21, 2009 in Queenstown, SEO, Web Marketing | 0 comments

Whats the difference I hear you ask?

Well….nothing really, two terms used basically to say the same thing.  Both refer to the art of promoting websites, products, opinions etc on the Internet so as they can be found by their intended audience.

Which ever term you prefer, there is no doubting the growing importance of this activity facing businesses today.

According to Netcraft’s monthly survey, there were 224,749,695 websites at the end of February, up more than 9 million from January.

That’s approximately 290,322 new websites per day going up! And that growth rate is increasing!!

Here’s an interesting graph on where these users are coming from

internet users

This begs the obvious question….How is my website going to be found?

One of the main ways for a business website to be found is by SEO or Search Engine Optimisation.  SEO is basically optimising your website’s code, keywords and links from other websites so as Google will place you higher in its search results.  This doesn’t have to be a technical or mysterious art, in fact the universally accepted and undisputed best things you can do to SEO your website is;

  1. Have good, relevant fresh content on your website
  2. Get a good number and quality of site relevant links to your website

Webclick has been formed specifically to help Queenstown and national clients SEO their websites.

Affordable and Effective Online Marketing using Geo-targeting

Posted by on Jul 13, 2009 in Blog, Pay Per Click (PPC), Queenstown | 0 comments

As you may have heard, we are in a recession. The big ‘R’ still stalks the land like a great big stalking thing. One of the first things that happens during these times is the slashing of companies advertising budgets. This is the exact opposite of what businesses should be doing. There are fewer customers spending less so they need to be chased harder. I have personally spoken to many business owner who realise they are doing the wrong thing in not spending money to make it, but they just feel that they are better off battening down the hatches and riding the storm out.
Internet advertising however is defying the trend. It is expected that it will actually increase by more than 10 percent in 2009. And a big percentage of that money is being spent on Pay-Per-Click (PPC).
The reason for this is PPC is thought of as an extremely effective use of advertising dollars due to it’s above average return on investment, highly measurable and quantifiable results. As a result, more money is moving from traditional channels to PPC.
With more and more companies realising the many benefits of undertaking a PPC campaign the market obviously becomes tougher with more competition around. Combine the increased competition with low consumer confidence and spending levels, and it can lead to higher cost-per-conversion for advertisers. One of the ways around this is by making extensive use of geo-targeted PPC campaigns.
Geo-targeting is an obvious choice for local or regional advertisers who can’t, or don’t want to, serve a national audience or companies that have a limited online marketing budget. However, geo-targeting can also be a great choice for national advertisers who want to expand their reach.
One of the great things about geo-targeting is the ability to bid on general terms that you can’t afford on a national basis.
For instance, buying the term “Car Rental” on a national scale is pricey, and the ROI may not be all that great. But buying “Queenstown Car Rental” for the immediate area around Queenstown can work very well, because those searchers are more likely than average to convert.
